School Chaplain

​​​​​​​​​The Chaplain at Mitchelton State High School provides support to the school community. The role involves assisting students through challenges, providing a listening ear and a caring presence for our students and staff. The chaplain can also provide spiritual support, with parental consent. 

​In our school, the chaplain Larissa plays a vital role within our Student Support Services team. Larissa has a Diploma in Youth Work and 17 years experience working in the Youth Support industry. 

Larissa coordinates and oversees a range of groups including:

  • ​Breakfast Club 
  • R U OK? Day 
  • Bullying. No Way!
  • Harmony Week
  • World Teachers Day​

Larissa works Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you would like to chat or book a meeting, please contact Larissa on 3550 1111. 

The chaplaincy services at Mitchelton State High School is supported by the community and does not receive government funding.
